Auburn women's basketball assistant coach La'Keshia Frett Meredith was inducted into the Hampton Roads Sports Hall of Fame Thursday night in Norfolk, Va.
Frett Meredith, a native of Hampton, Va., was a three-time All-American at Phoebus High School and was the national Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior in 1993. She still holds the Virginia High School League records for most career points by either a male or female high school player (3,290). She also held state records for career rebounds (1,556), season scoring average (32.9), and was ranked as high as second in career steals (452), blocks (336) and career scoring average (28.1).
In her playing career at Georgia, she was the 1994 SEC Freshman of the Year, was an All-SEC selection all four seasons and a two-time All-American. She played seven seasons in the WNBA before beginning her coaching career at Georgia in 2005.
She joined Coach Terri Williams-Flournoy's staff in May after spending the previous six seasons at the University of Virginia.
Auburn opens the 2019-20 season at home Wednesday, Nov. 6, against Wofford. Auburn will play 13 home games during the season.
