AUBURN, Ala. –  Auburn's Derrick Brown is one of ten finalists for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award in collegiate football.

To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.

Brown checks every box, having twice been named the SEC's Defensive Lineman of the Week this season while ranking in the top 10 in the SEC in sacks (4) and tackles for loss (7).

Academically, Brown plan to graduate in December with his marketing degree from Auburn University's Harbert College of Business. He also serves as president of Auburn's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

Auburn fans can vote for Derrick until Dec. 9 at www.seniorCLASSaward.com to help select the winner.

The finalists were chosen by a selection committee from the list of 30 candidates announced earlier in the season. Fan votes will be combined with media and Division I head coaches' votes to determine the winner. The Senior CLASS Award winner will be announced during the football bowl season in early January.
