The Lady Vols capitalized on a handful of Auburn miscues to jump ahead, 17-12. The Tigers pushed a 5-2 run late to bring the set to 21-18, but the Lady Vols went on to take the opening frame, 25-20.

SET THREE
Auburn once again capitalized on Tennessee errors to jump out to an 8-5 lead, forcing the Lady Vols into a timeout. UT pushed a 5-2 run out of the stoppage to draw even at 10. The two teams exchanged points for much of the set, with the score being tied nine times throughout the stanza, but a late three-point push by the Lady Vols proved the difference as Tennessee closed the match with a 25-23 victory.
