AUBURN, Ala. – After playing its first five fall exhibition games at Jane B. Moore Field, the Auburn softball team travels to Atlanta, Ga., to face Georgia Tech on Thursday at 6 p.m.
"I just want to see us grow and get better," head coach Mickey Dean said. "I just want the girls to continue to play and communicate."
Auburn is coming off a weekend with four exhibition wins — Pensacola State, Snead State, Chipola College and Wallace State CC – Hanceville — in a 24-hour period.
The wins were highlighted by a no-hit pitching performance against Pensacola State and a 4-for-4 afternoon by Alyssa Rivera against Snead State. The following afternoon, Ashlee Swindle tossed seven innings on scoreless softball against Chipola College, before a three-run bottom of the sixth inning propelled the Tigers to a win over Wallace State.
"I'm not looking for anything extraordinary or anything like that this weekend," Dean said. "I just want to make sure we are continuing to progress and work on things and correct things."
Following the matchup with the Yellow Jackets, Auburn will conclude its fall exhibition slate at Jane B. Moore Field on Friday, Oct. 18 against AUM at 6:00 p.m.
