AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn women's golf program, coming off an appearance in the NCAA semifinals last year, continues to add talent through recruiting with the addition of Elina Sinz, who signed her national letter of intent to play for the Tigers this week.

Sinz, a two-time 6A All-State golfer in Texas, joins Ireland native Anna Foster in the 2020 class.

"The best players have talent and a great work ethic to go with it. Elina possesses both, which will pave the way for a great career at Auburn," Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said. "She is as tenacious in the classroom as she is on the course. She will make Auburn proud."

Sinz is fresh off a standout summer where she won both the 2019 AJGA Folds of Honor Junior Championship and the 2019 AJGA Junior Championship. The former AJGA Junior All-Star Team member also played in the 2019 U.S. Women's Amateur and the 2019 USGA Girls' Junior Championship, making the cut for match play in both events.

Off the course, Sinz plans to major in civil or mechanical engineering when she enrolls at Auburn next summer. She will begin playing for the Tigers in the 2020-21 season.

In the meantime, Auburn will return to the course in February when the team travels to Palos Verdes Estates, California, to compete in the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. It's the first of six tournaments in the spring before postseason play begins.
