AUBURN, Ala. – Sophomore Meghan Knapic and junior Terri-June Granger were recognized for their efforts in November as Knapic secured both NCEA and SEC Fences Rider of the Month and Granger picked up SEC Reining Rider of the Month.
The two honors are the first of Knapic's career as the Smithtown, N.Y., product went undefeated in November. Her 3-0 mark in Fences all came against nationally-ranked teams and included two wins on the road. She averaged an 85 over the three meets and moved to 6-1-0 on the season.
Knapic opened with a 78-73 victory on the road at No. 9 SMU (Nov. 8). She followed with an 88 on the road at No. 4 Texas A&M (Nov. 9), besting her opponent by 10 points.
The sophomore then capped the month with another big score, helping the Tigers down No. 2 Georgia at home (Nov. 15). Knapic set a career best with an 89, topping her opponent by 10 points and helping Auburn sweep the Bulldogs in Fences. With her assistance, Auburn finished the month with an 11-4 record in the event.
The conference honor for Granger is the second of her career. The Dothan, Ala., product earned two wins on the month to improve to 6-1-0 on the year, picking up two MOPs on the way.
Granger's first MOP of November came on the road at No. 9 SMU as she bested her opponent by six points, 72.6-66.5. She capped the month with a 69-66.5 win over No. 2 Georgia, helping the Tigers go 4-1 vs. the Bulldogs in the event. Her win secured her second MOP honor in as many weeks.
