BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Auburn midfielders Bri Folds and Sydney Richards were recognized by the Southeastern Conference Sunday. Folds was named Second Team All-SEC and Richards earned SEC All-Freshman Team honors.
Folds has been honored by the league in three of her four seasons on The Plains. She caps off her career ranked in the top 10 in program history in goals (24), assists (25), points (73) and game-winning goals (nine), becoming one of just five Auburn players to rank in the top 10 in goals and assists.
The Lakeland, Florida, native leads the Tigers in goals (six) and points (15) for the second straight season. Folds tied the program record with a goal in four straight contests at the beginning of the season. She was named the SEC Offensive Player of the Week after registering a combined five points in back-to-back games against Syracuse and Troy.
Prior to the season, Folds was also named to the SEC Preseason Watch List, Top Drawer Soccer Preseason Best XI Third Team and Hermann Trophy Preseason Watch List.
Richards is the 10th Auburn freshman to be recognized by the conference in the last nine seasons. She ranks second on the team with four goals and third on the team with nine points in her first taste of collegiate soccer.
The Plano, Texas, native scored the first goals of her Auburn career in a two-goal effort against Troy, becoming the first Auburn freshman to record a brace since 2011. A week ago, Richards also scored the game-winner in double overtime of Auburn's seventh straight win in the Iron Bowl of Soccer.
Folds, Richards and the rest of the Tigers (7-9-2, 4-6-0 SEC) take on Alabama (9-6-3, 4-4-2 SEC) in the first round of the SEC Tournament Sunday at 1 p.m. CT in Orange Beach, Ala.
