Tigers travel to Baton Rouge for SEC showdown with LSU

Auburn, Ala. – Auburn volleyball hits the road, traveling to Baton Rouge, La., to face the Tigers of LSU. The two squads face off on Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT on the SEC Network.

"We're going to have to get [LSU] out of system," head coach Rick Nold said. "Serving wise, we've got to take some chances and get after them. We've got to find some ways to get some consistency, offensively. It's just a mentality of going and fighting for every point."


QUICK HITS
- The Auburn volleyball team (6-15, 0-10 SEC) dropped a hard-fought SEC contest versus Mississippi State, 3-0, last Friday.
-  A program-record 2,492 fans witnessed the back-and-forth contest, breaking the previous record of 2,474 set against Arkansas on Nov. 7, 2014.
- The duo of freshman Lily Thomason and sophomore Tatum Shipes led the Tigers with 10 kills apiece.
- Senior Shaina White closed the match with a season-high .400 hitting percentage, adding eight kills.
- Defensively, sophomore Bella Rosenthall totaled 20 digs. The Tigers recorded four blocks in the contest.

The Tigers return home for a matchup with No. 18 Kentucky on Sunday. First serve from Auburn Arena is set for 1:30 p.m. CT.


SCOUTING LSU
- LSU comes into Wednesday's match at 11-10 (5-6 SEC) after dropping a three-set contest against South Carolina on Friday before bouncing back with a five-set victory over Mississippi State.
- Junior Taylor Bannister ranks fifth in the SEC with a 4.03 k/s average. The Missouri City, Texas, product has produced double-digit kills in every conference match except one this season.
- Freshman setter Karli Rose is tops among SEC Freshman with a 9.50 a/s average and has tallied seven double-doubles for the Tigers.
- Libero Raigen Cianculli has totaled 342 digs in 79 sets and currently sits second in the league with a 4.64 d/s average in conference matches.
