AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn baseball and head coach Butch Thompson continued to announce the 2020 class with the addition of Jack Sokol Friday afternoon.
Sokol is a right-handed pitcher and joins the Auburn program from New Albany, Ohio. He is a product of New Albany High School and the Ohio Elite.
"Signing with Auburn was a dream come true and showed me that my hard work paid off," Sokol said. "I will continue to push myself to be the best player I can be at Auburn. I'm also very excited to be playing for great coaches and teammates. Auburn is a fantastic school in a well-respected conference. Playing at the highest level has always been a dream of mine, and I can't wait to get there."

Sokol enters his senior season as the No. 4 player in Ohio according to Prep Baseball Report and the No. 6 player in the state according to Perfect Game. He was named a 2019 Perfect Game Preseason High Honorable Mention All-American.
Through three seasons at the high school level, Sokol has posted a 19-1 record and 1.50 ERA. He posted an 8-1 record and 1.04 ERA as a junior in 2019 and went on to earn a number of awards, including being named the Ohio Capital Conference Player of the Year, This Week Ohio News Player of the Year and All-Metro Columbus Ohio Player of the Year. Sokol is also a two-time All-Conference and All-District honoree and has helped lead his team to back-to-back conference and district championships. He broke the New Albany High School record for wins in a season by going 9-0 as a sophomore in 2018.
His success continued with Ohio Elite as he posted a 5-1 record and 1.36 ERA while leading his team to four of seven tournament championships last summer.
