Freshman Boo Kammerer hails from Mount Sterling, Ky., and has already found success as a part of the Reining crew this year. With a 4-3 record in the event, Kammerer already has one MOP under her belt and is ready to continue working hard to help her team be successful.
Q: When going through the recruiting process, what made Auburn stand out?
A: When I was on my official visit I loved the campus, facilities and services available for students!
Q: What makes equestrian special/different from other sports?
A: Equestrian is different than other sports because we work with an animal as our partner, we must learn how to adjust to their different personalities and work productively with them.
Q: What's your biggest goal with the sport?
A: I would like to help my team stay undefeated through my four years of college.
Q: How has equestrian impacted your life?
A: I have developed a very good work ethic being a part of this sport and I think about how my decisions will impact everything around me.
Q: What's the earliest memory you have of your equestrian career?
A: I remember showing for the first time. It was a total mess and I was so upset, but I went back and showed the second day and placed in the Top 10 and was very happy with my work!
Q: If you had to be stuck on an island with three of your teammates, who would you want them to be and why?
A: Kayla Shelnutt because she's very good at building things and cutting hair. Mary McDaniel, my roommate, because she's very athletic and could tackle down feral animals. Rachel Hoopman because she's very tall and can reach coconuts and I also trust her ability in starting a fire.
Q: Who's your celebrity crush?
A: Dave Franco
Q: What's your favorite home cooked meal?
A: I love the green bean casserole my Dad makes for Thanksgiving.
Q: Who has had the biggest influence on your equestrian career and how?
A: My step dad has been the biggest influence on me as a person and as a rider. He taught me how to do everything on my own, and with confidence in myself. He taught me that riding is about treating the horse well, in order to be successful your partner has to be in tip top shape.
Q: If you could have any actress play you in a movie about your life who would it be and why?
A: Rebel Wilson, she's funny.
Q: Who's your biggest fan?
A: My mom, she is my biggest supporter and is always there to help.
Q: What's your favorite Auburn tradition?
A: I love rolling Toomer's Corner with my friends!
Q: How do you want to make an impact during your time here at Auburn?
A: I would like to help my team be successful.
