There is a big difference in scenery between the Plains of Auburn and the white beaches of Miramar Beach, Fla., but freshman Maggie Bowers knew AU was home for her right away. The agricultural business major loves the hometown feeling on campus and is excited to be a part of something bigger than herself.
Q: What made you choose Auburn?
A: I chose Auburn because it prides itself in how much of a home and family it is and that is carried over into the athletic department and every team. The coaches, Coach Williams, Coach Meneely, and Coach Braswell, made me feel so welcomed. I knew this was my home and my family.

A: I love to cook when I can and able too. Spending time with those I love as well.
Q: If you could explain your hometown using three adjectives what would they be?
A: Sugar white beaches, busy, and always beautiful.
Q: What do you do before a meet to prepare?
A: I do a lot of visualizing and walking of the pattern. I am very much a planner so I like to walk and talk to myself as if I was on the horse, planning what I would do in that exact moment in the show pen.
Q: What's your favorite animal?
A: I love all animals, but probably the elephant is my most favorite.
Q: What was the name of the horse you rode growing up?

Q: What is your ideal vacation?
A: Anywhere with a beach. St. George Island or St. Simons Island carries some of my fondest childhood memories.
Q: What do you love most about Auburn's campus so far?
A: You wouldn't think over 30,000 students go to school here. It definitely is a large university with the hometown feeling that I love.

A: I love any type of Mexican food.
Q: Where was your favorite place to travel for a meet growing up?
A: My favorite place to travel was probably Texas or Oklahoma.
Q: How long have you been riding?
A: Nine years.
Q: What's your favorite movie?
A: Any James Bond movie.
Q: If you could give a message to the Auburn Family, what would you say?
A: My message to the Auburn Family would be I believe that God created Auburn for something greater than you and I. I am so blessed to be a part of it! War Eagle!
