AUBURN, Ala. – The Auburn women's basketball team will be part of an eight-team field competing in the 2019 Gulf Coast Showcase, it was announced Tuesday.

The tournament runs Friday-Sunday, Nov. 29-Dec. 1, at Hertz Arena in Estero, Fla., with four games played each day.

Auburn will be joined by Arizona State, Drake, Gonzaga and Maine as teams that advanced to the 2019 NCAA Tournament. Middle Tennessee, Dayton and Purdue complete the eight-team field. Brackets and pairings will be announced at a later date.

The Tigers will return four starters and nine letter-winners from its 2019 team that went 22-10 overall, 9-7 in SEC play, and made its third NCAA Tournament appearance in the last four seasons.

About the Tournament
For the fifth consecutive year, the tournament will support the Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida. The hospital is the only children's hospital between Tampa and Miami and provides vital health care for the region's sick and injured children and their families. The hospital's  new $242 million facility provides 300,000 square feet of space, 128 pediatric and NICU beds with space to expand to 160 beds, a 17-bay emergency department, a freestanding pediatric pharmacy and in-hospital school classroom.
