COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Auburn right-handed pitcher Makayla Martin has been named to the 2019 SEC Softball Community Service Team, the Southeastern Conference announced Wednesday morning.

Martin, a senior, led Auburn with 21 community service hours during the Fall 2018 semester. This total included a team-high nine hours during the month of October, while her eight hours in November were tied with two other players for the most.

Martin spent every weekend in October and three of the four in November assisting the East Alabama Food Bank. In total, she visited the food bank 10 times during the semester to lend a hand before getting ready for her senior season with the Tigers.

After every home game, Martin also participated in post-game autograph sessions for fans, while also posing for photo opportunity.

Auburn will begin its run in the 2019 SEC Tournament Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m., CT, against Missouri in College Station.
