AUBURN, Ala. – The 2019 football season will begin in 24 days when Auburn travels to Dallas to play Oregon at AT&T Stadium. However, on Wednesday, the attention turned to the 2020 season as the SEC released the 2020 schedule for every team in the conference.

The most notable change for Auburn is the Georgia game on Oct. 10. For the first time since 1936, the Tigers will play their cross-division rival prior to the month of November. In 2020, the trip to Athens will be moved up a month and sandwiched in between home games against Kentucky and Texas A&M.

The month of November remains a grind, though, with back-to-back games against LSU and Alabama to close out the regular season. Auburn will host LSU on Nov. 21 before traveling to Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl on Nov. 28. It wil be the first time Auburn and LSU have played in November since 1942.

The Tigers open the 2020 season at home against Alcorn State on Sept. 5, and then the following Saturday they travel to Atlanta to face North Carolina in the 2020 Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game. This will be Auburn's third time playing in the event. The program is 2-1 all-time with wins over Washington in 2018 and Louisville in 2015.

SEC play begins Sept. 19 with a road trip to Ole Miss. It's the first of four true road games with trips to Georgia, Mississippi State and Alabama also on the slate.

The lone open date is Oct. 24, the week before the Mississippi State game.
