As the offseason rolls along, we'd like to introduce the newcomers for the upcoming 2020 softball season. With first pitch set for Feb. 7 in Clearwater, Fla., at the NFCA Leadoff Classic, we'll check in with all 13 new additions to the squad.

Next up, outfield standout fresh out of Spain Park High School, Maddie Majors.

Q: Why did you choose to play softball at Auburn?
Majors: As soon as I stepped on campus, I knew it was where I wanted to be. Auburn feels like home. My mother is also an Auburn graduate.

Q: What has been the highlight of your softball career so far?
Majors: Winning the 16u Premier PGF Championship in 2018 alongside my fellow Auburn teammate Carlee McCondichie.

Q: What is the best trip you've ever been on?
Majors: For our senior trip, my friends and I went to Panama City Beach, Fla. It was a really fun last trip to spend with everyone before we all went to college.

Q: What is your favorite fruit and your least favorite vegetable?
Majors: I really like cantaloupe, and I am not very fond of cauliflower.

Q: What jersey number will you wear, and does it hold a special meaning to you?
Majors: I grew up wearing #1 my whole life, but my last year in travel ball I was #11. That is what I chose to wear here.

Q: What is your favorite holiday?
Majors: I love Christmas because of the special meaning it has and how happy it makes everyone.

Q: As a newcomer, how do you plan to try and make an immediate impact on the program this year?
Majors:I know that I can always promote positivity and encourage my teammates to be their best.

Q: Where is your favorite place to eat in Auburn?
Majors: I love El Dorado because Mexican food is one of my favorite cuisines.

Q: If Auburn softball could play in a tournament anywhere in the world, where would you want to play?
Majors: I would like to play anywhere outside of the United States because I have never been out of the country before.

Q: What is your favorite Auburn sport other than softball?
Majors: I'd say football because the gameday atmosphere on the Plains is so much fun. It's something that I think everyone should get to experience.

Q: If you could give a message to the Auburn family would what it be?
Majors: I would like to say thank you for all the love and support you show us. We're very excited to see everyone in the spring. WAR EAGLE!
