As the offseason rolls along, we'd like to introduce the newcomers for the upcoming 2020 softball season. With first pitch set for Feb. 7 in Clearwater, Fla., at the NFCA Leadoff Classic, we'll check in with all 13 new additions to the squad.

Hannah Cavanaugh, a sophomore right-handed pitcher from Winter Park, Fla., is on deck.

Q: Why did you choose to play softball at Auburn?
Cavanaugh: The Auburn softball program feels like home to me. Everyone is a big family here.

Q: What is your favorite Auburn tradition?
Cavanaugh: I love when the eagle flies around the stadium and then lands in the middle of the field before football games. It is such an exciting and unique way to kick off each game.

Q: What is your favorite dessert?
Cavanaugh: I love anything chocolate, but if I had to pick something specific, I'd go with chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream on top.

Q: If you could ask your pet three questions, what would they be?
Cavanaugh: I would ask my dog: How is life as a dog? What do you think about all day? What do you think about me as an owner?

Q: What are some of your favorite tv shows to watch in your free time?
Cavanaugh: My favorites to watch are "That '70s Show" and "Friends".

Q: What is your major and what do you plan to do with it?
Cavanaugh: My major is finance. I want to work in real estate or be on the "money side" of the sports industry.

Q: Do you have any gameday rituals?
Cavanaugh: I do not have any serious superstitions, but when I'm up to bat I always draw a line in front of the plate as soon as I step into the batter's box. There's no reason. It's just something I have always done.

Q: If you could have any superpower which would you choose?
Cavanaugh: I wish I could be invisible because then I could sneak around and go places without anyone knowing I was ever there.

Q: What is your favorite Auburn sport other than softball?
Cavanaugh: Basketball. It's very interesting and fun to watch since, like softball, it is such a fast-paced sport.

Q: What does the Auburn family mean to you?
Cavanaugh: The Auburn family is truly a special thing that you cannot find anywhere else. These people will do anything and everything for me just because I am a part of Auburn. I am very thankful to be a part of this loving community.
