DURHAM, N.C. – Rounding out the last of the major softball polls, Auburn softball earned its third preseason ranking of the month with a spot at No. 23 in the Softball America Preseason Poll.
Softball America is the sister publication of Baseball America. Its rankings are determined by the staff along with a select group of Division I coaches.
Additionally, the Tigers were ranked at No. 23 in the USA Today/NFCA Preseason Coaches Poll and No. 22 in the inaugural DI Softball Preseason Top 25, both of which were released early this month. Auburn is receiving votes in ESPN.com/USA Softball Preseason Top 25 poll.
Concluding the season with a 39-21 overall record and the program's sixth straight NCAA Regional appearance, Auburn was one of nine Southeastern Conference programs ranked in the publication's preseason poll. Earlier this month, Softball America named seniors Tannon Snow and Alyssa Rivera members of its Top 100 Collegiate Players of 2020.
Auburn opens the season in the NFCA Leadoff Classic at Clearwater, Fla., on Friday, Feb. 7 against Baylor at 11 a.m. CT. The Tigers kick off the home slate at Jane B. Moore Field on Thursday, Feb. 13 against Kennesaw State.
