Olivia Tordoff came to Auburn with a long list of accomplishments and has continued to add to that list since arriving on the Plains.
The recent AQHYA President and Powell, Ohio, product is second on the team with five Horsemanship victories so far this season and leads the squad with two MOPs in the event. In addition, Olivia holds two of the team's top scores after the fall portion of the year, including a 78 on the road at Texas A&M.
Q: Do you have any pre-meet superstitions?
A: As a matter of fact, YES, I am very superstitious. My routine for each meet is the same. However, if things don't go according to plan, and I end up having a ride I am not fond of, I will change some things around to give myself a fresh start.
Q: What is the best vacation you've ever been on?
A: The best vacation I've ever been on would have to be anytime my family and I go to Florida over winter break. It's a family tradition, and there are so many happy memories associated with it. I enjoy the time spent with my family; it means the world to me.
Q: What is your favorite dessert?
A: My favorite dessert is 100% a Sonic Slush or a homemade angel food cake. It doesn't get any better than that.
Q: If you could no longer ride a horse at your meets, what animal would you choose, and why?
A: I would have to go with a water buffalo. It might take some getting used to, but I feel like I could do it. Also, can't think of anything more hilarious than running a horsemanship pattern on a water buffalo.
Q: What is your go-to salad dressing?
A: My go-to salad dressing is ranch all the way.
Q: Are you currently watching anything on Netflix?
A: I am not currently watching anything specific on Netflix, but my guilty pleasure is watching old "Whose Line Is It Anyway" episodes on YouTube.
Q: What is your favorite Auburn sport other than equestrian?
A: My favorite Auburn sport other than equestrian is most definitely football. I don't think it gets much better than sitting in the stands at an Auburn football game with the people you love the most. Win or lose the energy in Jordan-Hare is unlike anything else.
Q: If you're stranded on a deserted island, what three teammates do you bring with you and why?
A: If I were stranded on an island and could only bring three teammates, I would bring Maddie Spak, Boo Kammerer, and Mary McDaniel. Maddie is one of my best friends, and having her around to make fun of would keep our attitudes positive. Boo is quite possibly the most energetic and creative person on our team, so having her to build things would be very useful. Mary is by far the best cook out of all of us, so I know she'd keep our stomachs full.
Q: What is your favorite fruit and least favorite vegetable?
A: My favorite fruit is probably strawberries, and my least favorite vegetable is most definitely Brussel sprouts.
Q: What is your favorite Auburn tradition?
A: My favorite Auburn tradition is rolling Toomer's Corner. I love to watch the Auburn Family celebrate a win. Everyone is so happy and proud of their school and team. It really is something special.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?
A: If I could have any superpower, it would be the ability to teleport. Then, I could visit the people I love at home and make sure I was back in Auburn for early morning workouts the next day.
Q: Why did you choose Auburn for equestrian?
A: I chose Auburn for much more than the equestrian program. I fell in love with the school and the Auburn Family. The fact that the team was full of extraordinarily hardworking and passionate women whom I look up to was a massive factor in my decision. Not to mention the fact that Coach Williams, Coach Meneely, and Coach Braswell are the best coaches in the country who believe in helping us grow into strong, confident, and hardworking women first and foremost.
Q: If you could ask your pet three questions, what would they be?
A: If I could ask my dog, Edgar, three questions, they would have to be…
"Why do you love mom more than me? I feed you all the treats"
"Do you like all the outfits we put you in, or are you just cold?"
"Why do you bark at random inanimate objects outside while I'm trying to nap with you?"
Q: What is your major, and what do you plan to do with it?
A: I am a Biomedical Sciences major. I plan to attend medical school following my time here at Auburn. I am very passionate about helping people and the science behind medicine, so the opportunity to combine those concepts and make a difference is something that I have always dreamed about.
Q: If you could say one thing to the Auburn Family, what would it be?
A: I would like to thank them for their endless support of our team. The Auburn Family truly is unlike anything else and having their support, whether it be at our meets or on social media, does really make a big difference. When we win, it is for Auburn and for the fans that support us. We are truly so blessed!
