AUBURN, Ala.—The Auburn track and field team will head to Clemson, S.C. for the second time this indoor season for the Tiger Paw Invite, this weekend. The two-day competition will begin on Friday, Feb. 14 and will conclude on Saturday Feb. 15.

The competitive field for the Tiger Paw Invite features 24 competitive teams including SEC foes, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, Florida and South Carolina.

This weekend will mark the last meet of the indoor season before the Southeastern Conference Indoor Championships, February 28-29, in College Station, Texas.

"This is obviously our last competition before the SEC championships and it's going to be a barn burner," Auburn track and field head coach Ralph Spry said. "It will be the top meet in the country in terms of performances. This is the test we need because we got some people that are competing well."

Action on Friday will begin at 12 p.m. ET with women's 60m hurdles. Field events start at 12 p.m. ET with the women's long jump.

While the Tigers head to Clemson, sophomore All-American Joyce Kimeli, will head to Boston, Mass., to run in the 3000m at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational. Kimeli will return to the same venue that she broke Auburn's 5000m school record in December. Her 3000m race will begin Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. CT.

"We will send Joyce [Kimeli] to Boston at a premiere distance race to qualify for nationals, but she's already got a qualifying time for nationals in 5000m," Spry said. "We're trying to qualify her in the 3000m."
