AUBURN, Ala. – Senior Gracie Day was named the SEC Specialist of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
The San Antonio product had a big night Friday in Auburn Arena as the Tigers faced No. 2 Florida. Day scored a 9.9 or higher on all three events competed to lead the squad.
Day opened the night with a 9.925 on vault, tying her career high and finishing in second place. She followed with a 9.9 on bars, earning a season-high score that placed her in a tie for second. Day closed out the evening with a 9.9 in the final event, setting a season high on floor. That finish also placed her in a tie for second.
Auburn returns to competition Friday, traveling to Arkansas for another conference meet. The Tigers and the Razorbacks face off at 6:30 p.m. CT, Feb. 21, on SEC Network.
