Tigers look to get back on track against Alabama A&M

AUBURN, Ala. – No. 20 Auburn (5-3) continues its stretch of 23 straight home games to start the season by welcoming Alabama A&M (0-8) to Plainsman Park for a two-game set Tuesday and Wednesday. First pitch for both games is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT.

The games can be heard locally on WTGZ-FM (93.9), online at AuburnTigers.com, or on a mobile device via the Auburn Athletics app. Wednesday's game will be broadcast on SEC Network+.

QUICK HITTERS

Auburn was swept in non-conference play for the first time since 2010 last weekend.

The Tigers defeated Oakland, 17-1, in the first midweek contest of the season last Wednesday.

Brooks Fuller is set to make his first start of the season and ninth start of his career Tuesday. His last start came on May 14 of last year vs. North Alabama.

Trace Bright picked up his first career win in his collegiate debut vs. Oakland last Wednesday. He allowed one run on two hits with one walk and six strikeouts in 3.0 innings pitched.

The Auburn pitching staff has struck out 10 or more batters in eight straight games to start the season. It marks the longest streak with double digit strikeouts in the Stat Crew era (since 1993).

The team's 95 strikeouts through eight games are the most since striking out 112 batters through eight games in 1997.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS

Alabama A&M enters the pair of midweek contests with a 0-8 overall record after falling in a four-game series against Western Michigan last weekend.

Offensively, the Bulldogs are hitting .206 as a team and are led by JanMikell Bastardo's .357 clip. Dillon Roop leads the team with five RBI after collecting a pair in the series against the Broncos. 

On the mound, A&M has turned in a 13.43 staff ERA and has struck out 54 batters through the first eight games.

SERIES HISTORY

Auburn is 11-0 all-time against Alabama A&M and has outscored the Bulldogs 120-20 in the series.

The Tigers have scored 10 or more runs in seven of the previous meetings, including each of the last three.

Fans attending Tuesday's game should be advised that the Arena Lot and top two levels of the Stadium Parking Deck will be permit parking only for the men's basketball game. The Athletics Complex Parking Deck, the Campus Safety Lot off Wire Road and Donahue Drive, and the parking lots inside AG Heritage Park are available.

There are two mobile device charging stations – one located next to the promotions booth on the main concourse and another in the Plainsman Patio presented by Kia of Auburn.

New for 2020, alcohol may be purchased in the Tiger Terrace. Any fan with a purchased game ticket may enter without a pass or additional ticket and purchase either beer or wine with proof of ID. Alcohol sales end after the top of the seventh. No alcohol may leave the Tiger Terrace, and outside food or drink is no longer permissible.

Grass areas around the park and adjacent parking lots are open for tailgating.
