BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Auburn's C.J. Easley was selected as the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced. It is the first weekly honor of Easley's career.
Easley is the fourth Tiger to garner distinction from the SEC office this season, joining teammates Graysen Huff, Jovan Rebula and Alex Vogelsong.
The Oxford, Miss. native was Auburn's top finisher as he completed his three-round circuit of the par-72 Grand National Lake Course in second.
Easley carded 17 birdies with just seven bogeys in 54 holes of play and shot under par in all three rounds during the week.
The freshman was one of just two players in the field to shoot all three rounds below bar.
Easley finished inside the top 10 for the first time in his career after turning in career-low scores through 18, 36 and 54 holes.
Easley and the Tigers return to action March 16-17 for the Valspar Collegiate at Floridian Golf Club in Palm City, Fla.
