AUBURN, Ala. - No. 19 Auburn baseball bounced back from its series against UCF by going 5-0 and outscoring its opponents 55-14 last week. Four more game starting with a midweek matchup against in-state for Samford (10-1) are on deck this week.   • The contest marked his seventh multi-hit game of the season and third game with four RBI.

  • Earned the win as Auburn completed its sweep with a shutout against Wright State Sunday.
  • Pitched a season-high 5.0 innings and matched a season high with seven strikeouts.
  • Contributed to his second shutout of the season in the win.

Judd Ward – Jr. – OF – Russellville, Ala.

  • Went 4-for-4 with two runs, two double, one home run and a career-high seven RBI in the second of two midweek games against Alabama A&M.
  • Ward's seven RBI in the contest are tied for the most in the SEC this season.
  • It marked his second game this season with four hits and three extra-base hits.

Team Notes

Auburn bounced back from getting swept last weekend to win five games in a span of six days by outscoring its opponents 55-14 … the Tigers scored double digit runs in three of the five games and turned in double digit hits in four of the five contests … the team has scored 122 runs on 149 hits thru 13 games … the 149 hits are the most in the SEC and the 122 runs are tied for second … hit .354 as a team with 13 doubles and eight home runs … the pitching staff struck out 62 batters in 45.0 innings while the offense  struck out just 23 times and drew 30 walks … hit multiple home runs in four straight games against Alabama A&M (Feb. 25-26) and Wright State (Feb. 28-29) … defeated Alabama A&M for the 12th and 13th straight times in the midweek … recorded a season high with 20 runs and 19 hits to clinch the series versus Wright State Saturday … the 20 runs were the most since the series finale against Alabama on Apr. 21, 2018 and the 19 hits were the most since the series finale against the Crimson Tide on May 5, 2019 … turned in the third shutout of the season and second of the week to complete the sweep against the Raiders Sunday … the pitching staff continued its stretch of double digit strikeouts with totals of 10, 12, 14, 13 and 13 throughout the week … the staff has struck out 10 or more batters in a program record 13 straight contests to start the season … Judd Ward turned in his second four-hit game of the season and drove in a career-high seven runs – the most since Steven Williams on Feb. 17, 2018 – in the second of two midweek games against Alabama A&M … Conor Davis became the first Auburn player since Brendan Venter in 2018 to homer in three straight games … Ryan Bliss went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs and four RBI in the middle game against Wright State … it marked Bliss' first career game with multiple home runs and third game this season with four RBI … Matt Scheffler went 2-for-2 with two walks, two runs and a career high four RBI in the series finale against the Raiders … Cody Greenhill earned his 19th career save in the series opener against Wright State … he is one save shy of moving into a tie with Gregg Olson (1986-88) and Colter Bean (1997-2000) for fourth place in program history.
