HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Through two rounds, the Auburn women's golf team is holding steady in fourth place at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate.

The Tigers shot a 298 (+14) in Saturday's second round, the seventh-highest score of the day among the 17 teams competing this weekend at Long Cove Club (Par 71, 6,290 yards). On a day where birdies were hard to come by, Auburn made eight as a team.

Three of those eight birdies came from Megan Schofill who followed her 72 (E) in the first round with a 1-over 73 on Saturday. The freshman, who now has seven birdies for the tournament, leads the Tigers and is currently tied for second overall among individuals. Schofill won the individual title last month at the Lake Oconee Invitational.

Juniors Kaleigh Telfer and Julie McCarthy knocked in two birdies apiece in the second round. Telfer carded a 75 (+4) and is tied for 22nd on the leaderboard at 6 over. McCarthy is two strokes back and in a tie for 32nd after firing a 74 (+3) for the round.

Fellow junior Mychael O'Berry finished with a 77 (+6) for the second straight day, and both she and teammate Elena Hualde Zúñiga are in the top 60 heading into the final round.

Wake Forest maintained its lead at 7-over par (575), followed by UCLA (580), Baylor (587), Auburn (592), Texas (593), North Carolina (593), Duke (594), Vanderbilt (594), LSU (597), Arkansas (601), South Carolina (602), Alabama (610), Furman (611), Florida State (612), Virginia (613), Northwestern (615) and Georgia (620).
