DURHAM, N.H. – The No. 15 Auburn gymnastics team capped the long weekend with a 195.825 to come in second at the UNH Quad Meet hosted by New Hampshire Sunday. The meet was held in Durham, N.H. at the Whittemore Center.

Rutgers edged the Tigers with a 195.900 to win the meet. Central Michigan finished third with a 195.175 and host New Hampshire finished with a 195.075.

"There were some real bright spots today," head coach Jeff Graba said. "I thought the team did a good job with the elements between competing on an ice rink and dealing with daylight savings on top of traveling as far as we did. The big part of this meet was getting ready for the postseason and the pace of a quad meet. I'm walking away thinking we're in a good spot right now."

Sophomore Derrian Gobourne picked up a pair of event titles on the day. She tied a season-best 9.9 on vault and earned a 9.85 on floor for the squad.

Highlighting the team performance was the first rotation where the Tigers put together a 49.225. Gobourne led with a 9.9, marking the fifth time this season where she finished with a 9.9 or better. Junior Drew Watson tied her season best with a 9.85.

Senior Emma Slappey put up a big score on beam, leading the team with a 9.875. That score came in second during the meet and it tied her career high.

The Tigers will make a quick turnaround, traveling to Birmingham Friday for the annual Elevate the Stage meet. Auburn faces Alabama at 7 p.m. CT in the BJCC.
