  • Combined with Cody Greenhill to hold Chicago State to one hit, the fewest hits allowed since Casey Mize's no-hitter vs. Northeastern on Mar. 9, 2018.

Bailey Horn – R-Jr. – LHP – Waco, Texas

  • Struck out a season and career high 11 batters and matched a career high with 6.0 innings pitched.
  • His 11 strikeouts are the most by an Auburn pitcher since Tanner Burns struck out 15 vs. Cincinnati on Mar. 1, 2019.
  • Struck out the side to start the game and recorded two or more strikeouts in four innings.
  • Didn't issue a walk as he threw 55 of his 74 pitches for strikes and faced just two batters over the minimum.
  • The game marked the third shutout Horn has contributed to this season.

 Matt Scheffler – Sr. – C – Kirkland, Wash.

  • Tied for the team lead with four runs and tied for second with six hits on the weekend.
  • Matched a season and career high with three hits in the series opener vs. Chicago State.
  • Went 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and run scored in the series finale against the Cougars.
  • Caught all nine innings of both shutouts on the weekend.

Rankin Woley – Sr. – IF – Atlanta, Ga.

  • Drove in multiple runs in all three games vs. Chicago State and collected multiple hits in two of three contests.
  • Went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in the series opener.
  • Followed it up by going 3-for-3, finishing a triple shy of the cycle and matching a career high with four RBI in the series-clinching middle game.
  • Started the scoring in the middle game with a two-run homer in the second and also drove a run in the third and fourth innings. 
  • Capped of his weekend by driving in two more runs in the series finale.

Team Notes

Auburn extended its win streak to eight games with a three-game sweep of Chicago State … the sweep was the team's second straight and third in non-conference play … it marks just the second time since 2007 the Tigers have swept three of four non-conference weekends (2018) … the Tigers hit .407 in the series (48-for-118) and outscored Chicago State 31-2 … the 48 hits are the most in a three-game series since also recording 48 hits in three games at Kentucky from Apr. 8-10, 2011 and the most in a span of three game since totaling 50 hits in the 2018 Raleigh Regional … the two runs allowed are the fewest in a series since allowing one run in three games vs. Longwood to open the 2018 season … 17 different position players saw action in the series, and 14 recorded a hit … five players recorded two or more hits in all three contests … the Auburn pitching staff held Chicago State to 12 hits in 27.0 innings and struck out 37 batters while issuing just seven walks … the weekend rotation went 3-0 with a 0.95 ERA and struck out 27 batters with four walks in 19.0 innings … all three starters turned in a quality outing … Auburn relievers haven't allowed a run since the sixth inning of the middle game against Wright State on Feb. 29 – a span of 15.1 innings.
