AUBURN, Ala. – Senior Haley Pembroke of the No. 1 Auburn equestrian team added another academic accolade to her resume as she became a recipient of an NCAA Women's Enhancement Graduate Scholarship, the national organization announced.

"I feel so honored to have been chosen as a recipient of this scholarship among such a competitive group of high-achieving and outstanding female student-athletes," Pembroke said. "I am so grateful to the NCAA for not only such an incredible four years as a student-athlete, but also for their support of my aspirations following the end of my college athletics career."

Recipients of the scholarship must be enrolled in a sports-related program as a full-time graduate student. Pembroke, who hails from Bellevue, Wash., will graduate from Auburn this May with a degree in finance from the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business. She has been accepted to the University of Nebraska to earn her Master of Arts in Business with a specialization in Intercollegiate Athletics Administration.

"My main inspiration to continue my education in order to pursue a career in athletics administration has been my head coach, Greg Williams," Pembroke said. "He was the first person to push me to make my first connections within the Auburn Athletics Department and that has opened so many doors for me. I was able to experience the amazing program that he has spent over 20 years building and I hope I am able to create half of what he has during my career."

"Haley is such a deserving student-athlete for this award," Williams said. "She is not only a talented rider, but has also been one of our hardest workers in the classroom, at the barn and in the community. She will be a major success in graduate school."

Pembroke is a three-time NCEA Academic Honor Roll honoree and has been a consistent member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll as well. She was Auburn's selection to the 2019 SEC Community Service Team, has been on multiple Dean's Lists and is a part of Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Society.
