Why Auburn?
"My visit was really good. I really liked the coaches when they recruited me at Junior Wimbledon in the summer. I just had a good visit when I came here. I liked the campus. I went to a football game, which was a little bit different for an English guy. It was a lot of fun."
Your transition to Auburn from England?
"Tennis over here and college tennis in general is a lot different. There's bigger crowds and a lot of pressure. There's no juices; there's just one juice point."
Favorite sports to attend at Auburn other than tennis:
"The basketball games and when the American football is on, I'll watch that. Sometimes I go to the gymnastics meets. One of the guys on the team has a girlfriend on the team. And obviously the ladies' tennis team as well."
Most unusual place you've heard War Eagle:
"After my visit, I was wearing a jumper from when I committed, and I was in a supermarket back in England and someone told me War Eagle."
What's your major?
"Right now, I'm pre-business."
Balancing school and tennis:
"It's not too bad, but when we're traveling on weekends, I miss some classes. So, it's just trying to find time to catch up on work and meet with the teachers to go over what we missed."
What advice would you give to a young athlete looking to play in college?
"Make sure that the coaches are for you and that they aren't just all about the winning. Make sure they care about your development and find the right campus for you. Find a conference that suits your needs as far as the strength of the conference goes."
What's your hometown and what's it known for?
"Holmfirth is a tiny little village in Yorkshire, England. I was brought up in the country. There's a show called Last of the Summer Wine that's from there. Other than that, it's not famous for much other than its ale."
Any other family members who play sports:
"Yeah, my sister plays tennis at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque."
Age when you started tennis:
"I think I was 4 years old."
Your best tennis skill:
"Probably my balance and my movement. Also, my hands at the net and my forehand to dictate points."
Favorite tennis player:
"I'd say (Kei) Nishikori or Dan Evans. I love Andy Murray as well, but he's not really my kind of height."
Your best moment in tennis:
"I'm not going to lie -- the win at Clemson was unreal. I think we were all so relieved winning; we didn't want to ride home with a loss. It was just a crazy experience. They had a pretty good crowd as well. Other than that, I'd say playing in the Junior Wimbledon or picking up my first professional point is up there."
Sport you would play if not tennis?
"I have no idea. Probably soccer."
Eventual career goal after tennis:
"To play professional tennis. If not that, maybe be a college coach or a coach back in England. I definitely want to do something with tennis."
