AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn senior first baseman Justus Perry has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team for softball, the College Sports Information Directors of America announced Thursday.
Perry, a senior from Prior Lake, Minn., has been a three-time selection to the SEC Academic Honor Roll and is a double major in law and justice and Spanish. She has also been a team leader in community service and was honored at the most recent AUSPYs with the 2020 Virgil Starks Passion Award.
On the field, Perry is third in program history with 32 hit-by-pitches, and is one of the top defensive first basemen in the country with a career .989 fielding percentage. She is a career .257 hitter with 11 home runs and 77 RBI.
Earlier this week, Perry announced that she would be returning for a fifth season of eligibility as granted by the NCAA due to the COVID-19 shortened season.
Academic All-District selections will advance to the national ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, which will be announced in June.
Perry is the fourth Auburn softball player to earn a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, joining Tiffany Howard, Victoria Draper, and three-time honoree Kasey Cooper.
