Lee, Tarwater named to SEC Community Service Team

AUBURN, Ala.—Auburn senior Ryan Lee and sophomore Hannah Tarwater were named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team for the sports of men's and women's track and field and cross country, the conference announced Tuesday.

A native of Brentwood, Tenn., Lee has volunteer at High Hopes, an educational program designed to assist kindergarten kids with and without special needs to create an optimal learning environment by providing activities and specific needs for individual students. He has also served as a mentor in the Auburn Athletics CONNECT program created to help freshman student-athletes transition into college, while also participating in the Beat Bama Food Drive and volunteering for the Salvation Army Angel Tree project.

Tarwater has participated in numerous projects in the Auburn community, including speaking to the Drake Middle School's Breakfast Club, providing motivational talk about importance of education and doing the right thing. The Huntsville, Ala., native has also participated in the City of Auburn Downtown Trick or Treat event and donated to Auburn SAAC Toys for Tots. A member of FCA, she went on mission trip during Spring Break 2020.

The SEC names a Community Service Team for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports, looking to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to his or her community through superior service efforts.
