AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn softball rounds out its coaching staff as head coach Mickey Dean announced the hiring of former Texas A&M pitcher Kendall Potts as the program's volunteer assistant.

"We are excited to have Kendall join our staff," Dean said. "Kendall has a hunger and passion for the game, which will serve her well as a young coach. As a pitcher, she will give us another set of eyes on our staff."

After beginning her career at Baylor, Potts played her final two seasons as an Aggie. She appeared in a total of 117 games while at both programs and closed her career with 266 strikeouts and a 37-21 record. During her career, she was a three-time academic honor roll member with recognitions from both the Big 12 and SEC. She also earned a spot on the All-Big 12 Freshman Team in 2015.

"Having the opportunity to start my coaching career in the SEC is amazing," Potts said. "I've always had a great respect for Coach Dean and the programs he has led. I'm excited to be joining him along with Coach Lenti and Coach Carosone as part of the staff. War Eagle!"

Potts was a staple in the circle for the Aggies after transferring into the program as a junior in 2019. She tossed 11 complete games and led the Texas A&M staff with 86 strikeouts in her debut season. As a senior, she started nine contests and fanned 38.

The Arlington, Texas, native earned her undergraduate degree in health, kinesiology and leisure studies at Baylor. She pursued a master's in sport management while at Texas A&M.
