AUBURN, Ala.—The Auburn track and field team will compete in the second indoor meet of the season when it head to Nashville for the Vanderbilt Invitational this weekend. The two-day competition at the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility on the Vanderbilt campus will start at 4 p.m. CT Friday and resume Saturday at 10 a.m.

The event features a competitive field with 17 men's teams and 18 women's teams. This includes five programs that are ranked in the top 25.

"This will be a little better facility and a little more competitive," head coach Ralph Spry said. "It gives us a chance to build on what we've already started. That's what we've done. As we'll peak towards the end of the season and indoor SEC Championships."

With 14 newcomers competing last week at the first meet of the 2020 season, the Blazer Invitational, the Tigers are still working to acclimate and make progress as they ready for the SEC Championships in February.

"The biggest thing, like all sports, is you want to see improvement," Spry said. "Everybody didn't have the performance that they wanted. That's fine, but hey, pick yourself up and dust yourself off. You've got to get focused for next weekend."

The Tigers will have 19 men and 18 women competing in the second meet this season. Tickets to the meet are $5 for general admission tickets, while fans interested in following live results can visit: https://auburntige.rs/2R3JAZr.
