LOUISVILLE, Ky. – A second wave of preseason polls saw Auburn softball earn a national ranking as the Tigers enter the 2020 season ranked No. 23 in the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 Preseason Coaches Poll, the organization announced Tuesday.

Auburn, which concluded the 2019 season with a 39-21 overall record after making its 15th NCAA Regional appearance, was one of 10 Southeastern Conference teams ranked in the preseason poll. The SEC led the nation with the most ranked programs.

The Tigers earned their first preseason ranking last week as Auburn checked in at No. 22 in the inaugural D1 Softball Top 25. ESPN.com/USA Softball released its preseason rankings earlier today. The Tigers just missed the Top 25 cut by three points and is receiving votes in the initial poll.

Softball America's Preseason Top 25 will be released later in the week.

Auburn opens the season in the NFCA Leadoff Classic at Clearwater, Fla., on Friday, Feb. 7 against Baylor at 11 a.m. CT. The Tigers kick off the home slate at Jane B. Moore Field on Thursday, Feb. 13 against Kennesaw State.
