The Auburn men's tennis team will compete in Nashville, Tenn., Friday through Sunday as part of the field of the Vanderbilt Invitational being held at the Currey Tennis Center. The competition will feature participants from SEC schools Vanderbilt, Auburn, Arkansas and Kentucky.

The schools will be playing a number of singles and doubles matches each day to gain experience for their entire lineups. Up to 10 singles matches will be played at each session, as well as up to five doubles matches.

Auburn will face Kentucky Friday at 9 a.m. The Tigers will go up against host Vanderbilt Saturday morning and will compete against Arkansas Sunday morning.

"We can't wait to get back out there," Auburn coach Bobby Reynolds, whose team last competed two weekends ago at home in the Tiger Fall Invite, said. "We're especially excited about continuing in doubles, where we had some unbelievable pairings and results our first weekend. We've made some individual changes in doubles that we think will pay off and we're eager to see how those go.

"We need to bring that energy and belief to every match, and view each match as a new opportunity. We will be looking to finish off more matches in singles than we did two weeks ago; we had a lot of opportunities throughout those matches to close our sets, to consolidate breaks, and we need to capitalize this time in finishing. The key for our guys will be making sure the mental lapses don't derail us. When there are mistakes, let them go, reassess and move on.

"The goal for us for the fall was to get to play in as many matches as possible. Every bit of that experience will pay off in the spring."
