FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The Auburn men's golf team saved its best for last when it shot a 12-under 272 in the final round of the Vanderbilt Legends Collegiate Tuesday. The Tigers' card was the second lowest of the field on the day, trailing only Georgia's 13-under 271.

Auburn's third-round score also tied for the fourth-lowest card turned in by any team during the week.

"I'm really proud of the team today as they made a ton of birdies and were really engaged in the round from start to finish," head coach Nick Clinard said.

As a team, the Tigers racked up 26 birdies on the day, led by J.M. Butler's nine and Alex Vogelsong's eight.

Butler produced a career-low round at 5-under and finished the week in a tie for 18th at 6-under (69-72-66--207). The freshman birdied half of his round with five coming on the back nine and four on the front nine.

Wells Padgett improved each round during the week and finished at 4-under (71-70-68--209), tied for 27th. The senior had an up-and-down back nine after teeing off on the 10th hole, but strung together a flawless front nine that featured two birdies and seven pars.

Vogelsong fended off three bogeys with his eight birdies and seven pars in his final circuit of the par-71 Vanderbilt Legends Club. The sophomore tied for 31st overall at 3-under (67-75-68--210).

Jovan Rebula and Andrew Kozan completed the lineup for Auburn. Rebula tied for 62nd at 4-over (71-71-75--217), while Kozan finished in 64th at 5-over (74-74-70--218).

Vanderbilt took home the team title at 39-under (813), followed by Georgia (818) and Texas A&M (823). The Tigers finished 10th at 15-under (837).
