Auburn swept its four doubles matches Saturday at the Tiger Fall Invitational and the Yarbrough Tennis Center. Participants in the weekend event are from SEC schools Vanderbilt, Florida, Alabama and Ole Miss, along with host Auburn.
Auburn's Tad Maclean and Finn Murgett took on the Ole Miss tandem of Brady Draheim and Tim Sandkaulen, defeating them 9-7, and Tom Wright and Maxwell Giddens posted another victory for the Tigers with a 9-8 (7) tiebreak win over Vanderbilt's Max Freeman and Jeremie Casabon.
Tyler Stice and Jackson Ross posted a win for Auburn over Macsen Sisam and Marcus Ferrara of Vadnerbilt by a 9-7 score, and Spencer Gray and Tim Dollman completed the doubles sweep for Auburn, downing George Harwell and Adam Sraberg of Vanderbilt 8-6.
In singles, freshmen Jackson Ross and Maxwell Giddens posted their first wins at Auburn. Ross downed Vanderbilt's Jeremie Casabon 6-4, 6-4, and Giddens defeated Macsen Sisam of Vanderbilt by a 6-2, 6-3 score. Spencer Gray was a singles winner for a second straight day, defeating Adam Sraberg of Vanderbilt 4-6, 6-2, 7-5.
On Sunday, Florida, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss will be in action at 9 a.m., with Auburn and Alabama finishing the weekend action at 2 p.m.
All Auburn home tennis action is at the Yarbrough Tennis Center (1717 Ruchland Road, Auburn) and admission is free. Fans are welcome to attend any matches played outdoors; fans must wear face coverings.
Spectators will have to stay physically distanced, as the capacity at the Yarbrough Tennis Center is limited to 180 spectators at any one time. Fans will want to bring chairs or blankets as bleacher seating will not be available. Restrooms will be available at the upper Yarbrough Tennis Center building adjacent to the clay courts; only participants will be able to access the indoor courts and offices.
