Competition got underway Friday in the Tiger Fall Invitational, as participants from SEC schools Vanderbilt, Florida, Alabama and Ole Miss, along with host Auburn, play at the Yarbrough Tennis Center in Auburn.
Highlights for Auburn Friday included a pair of doubles wins, one by Diego Chavarria and Anders Fry over Ben Shelton and Will Grant of Florida by a tiebreak score of 8-7 (4). Auburn's Tim Dollman and Spencer Gray were 8-3 winners over Jan Soren Hain and Cotter Wilson of Ole Miss. Gray also picked up a singles victory for Auburn with a three-set triumph over Grant by a 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (6) score.
On Saturday, Auburn will play Vanderbilt and Ole Miss at 9 a.m., with Alabama and Florida meeting at 2 p.m. On Sunday, Florida, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss will be in action at 9 a.m., with Auburn and Alabama finishing the weekend action at 2 p.m.
All Auburn home tennis action is at the Yarbrough Tennis Center (1717 Richland Road, Auburn) and admission is free. Fans are welcome to attend any matches played outdoors and must wear face coverings.
Spectators will have to stay physically distanced, as the capacity at the Yarbrough Tennis Center is limited to 180 spectators at any one time. Fans will want to bring chairs or blankets as bleacher seating will not be available. Restrooms will be available at the upper Yarbrough Tennis Center building adjacent to the clay courts; only participants will be able to access the indoor courts and offices.
