FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Auburn's Andrew Kozan led the way for the Tigers with an even-par card in the first round of the Blessings Collegiate Invitational Monday. Kozan is tied for 14th after the first 18 holes at the par-72 Blessings Golf Club.
The senior was 1-under through the first three holes and, after navigating a difficult stretch between the fourth and seventh holes, closed out the final 11 holes at 2-under. Kozan had a team-high six birdies on the day.
C.J. Easley and Wells Padgett tied for the team lead with 11 pars each and are tied for 40th at 4-over (76) and 43rd at 5-over (77), respectively.
In his first collegiate round, J.M. Butler carded a 6-over 78 and is tied for 49th. Alex Vogelsong rounded out the lineup and is tied for 59th at 7-over (79).
Auburn is in 10th in the team standings at 15-over (303), while Tennessee leads the field at 8-under (280).
The Tigers begin the second round of the inaugural event Tuesday at 11:18 a.m. CT off the No. 10 tee box. Golf Channel is set to provide live coverage from 2:30-6:30 p.m. Live stats can be found on Golfstat.com.
