AUBURN, Ala. – Members of the Auburn equestrian team had continued success before returning to collegiate competition this fall.
 
The Jumping Seat side of competition was led by senior Taylor St. Jacques, juniors Meghan Knapic and McKayla Langmeier, sophomore Paige Matthies and freshmen Ellie Ferrigno, Grace Pearson and Helen Lohr.
 
St. Jacques, the reigning NCEA and SEC Flat Rider of the Year, took home the win in the $10,000 SJHF High Junior/AO Classic category during the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival in Traverse City, Mich., Aug. 2. Matthies also competed during the festival and had a handful of Top 5 finishes.
 
Knapic continued her success away from the Plains and finished seventh in the $100,000 Platinum Performance Hunter Prix at HITS Saugerties in New York.
 
Langmeier, the reigning NCEA and SEC Fences Rider of the Year, picked up a third-place finish at the Fieldstone Summer Showcase. Competing in Halifax, Mass., Langmeier competed in the $24,000 Fieldstone Grand Prix.
 
Freshman Ellie Ferrigno followed up an already successful summer with an equally outstanding fall season. Highlighting her past couple months was her performance at the New England Equitation Championship, Sept. 16-20, in Halifax. She won the Junior Hunt Seat Medal Finals and was the High Point Junior Rider at the championship.
 
In addition, Ferrigno finished as reserve champion in Older Large Junior Hunters at the East Coast USEF Junior Hunter Championship, Aug. 23-25, in Traverse City. She also came in third at the USHJA Gladstone Cup Equitation Classic in Williamsburg, Mich., Aug. 25.
 
Pearson took home second in the NHS THIS Adult Medal at the KHJA Summer Horse Show. She also came in second in Adult Medal and fourth in NHS THIS Adult Medal at the Kentucky Summer Classic. Both shows were held in Lexington.
 
Lohr found success recently, winning the VHSA Adult Amateur Medal Final.
