FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Auburn women's golf team wrapped up play at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational on Wednesday, and for the third straight tournament going back to last season, the Tigers had at least two players place in the top 10 individually.

This week, it was juniors Kaleigh Telfer and Julie McCarthy who finished tied for ninth at 5-over par.

Telfer fired a team-best 72 (E) in the third round Wednesday and was 1-under on the back nine. She made three birdies on the day, bringing her total to 10 for the tournament. McCarthy knocked in five birdies Wednesday, including three on the front nine, and her 11 birdies for the week were tops on the team and tied for 10th overall.

Mychael O'Berry matched Telfer with three birdies Wednesday and earned a top-20 finish in her season debut. The junior, who was 3-over going into the day, shot a 77 (+5) to close out the tournament and finished in a tie for 18th on the individual leaderboard.

As a team, Auburn started and finished the day in seventh place. The Tigers carded a 304 (+16) in the final round with a total of 14 birdies between the five players.

"Solid play by Telf, Julie and Mychael," Auburn head coach Melissa Luellen said. "Considering all of our circumstances with COVID, I am pleased with the results. The Blessings certainly exposes a player's weaknesses, so we will have specific things to work on in preparation for our next tournament."

The Tigers will get a short break before returning to action Monday, Oct. 19 for The Ally at Old Waverly. The three-day event, played at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi, will once again feature all 14 SEC teams in the field along with Southern Miss.
