AUBURN, Ala. – Senior Alyssa Malonson has been named Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week honorable mention following a pair of performances last week.
The honor marks the second time Malonson has been recognized by Top Drawer Soccer in her career. She is also the fourth Auburn player to earn distinction from the publication this season.
Coming off a goal-scoring effort at Arkansas two weeks ago, Malonson assisted on the game-winning goal at LSU that earned Auburn a first-round bye in this week's SEC Tournament. The win also marked the Tigers' 300th win in program history.
Malonson, who also played a role in the team's third shutout of the season, won a ball in the midfield and made a burst up the left flank before crossing to Kori Locksley, who finished in front of frame.
Malonson started in all eight games this fall regular season and has started in all 67 contests in her Auburn career.
Auburn (3-3-2) makes its 20th straight trip to the SEC Tournament and will take on Georgia (2-3-2) Sunday at 5 p.m. CT in Orange Beach, Alabama.
