Auburn Baseball Notebook - Nov. 12

AUBURN, Ala. – The Tigers are through 12 intrasquad contests and are set to wrap up the fall with a five-game Orange vs. Blue World Series set to begin this afternoon.

All five games will be six innings and will be streamed on Facebook Live.

Game 1 – Thursday, Nov. 12 at 4:15 p.m.
Game 2 – Friday, Nov. 13 at 4 p.m.
Game 3 – Sunday, Nov. 15 at 3:15 p.m.
Game 4 – Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 4:15 p.m.
Game 5 – Thursday, Nov. 19 at 4 p.m.

Below is a list of some of the Tigers' top performers this fall.

Top Pitcher: Trace Bright

Bright's stuff has made a jump after making three midweek starts during his COVID-shortened freshman season in 2020. The Montgomery native has been one of the Tigers best arms in four outings this fall with 14 strikeouts and two walks in 11 innings of action. In his most recent start last Thursday, Bright struck out five in 3.0 innings and his fastball was up to 95 miles per hour.

"We have a lot of guys that they're just now ramping up, so they're getting that velo up. Trace Bright last night hit 95, which that's something good that we saw out of him," fellow pitcher Richards Fitts said of Bright. "He didn't play summer ball like I did, so now he's getting to some (points) where we're starting to see what he did over COVID and it's starting to show."
 

Top Position Player: Brody Moore

Brody Moore continues to get it done both at the plate and in the field and has taken on more of a leadership role in his third fall with the program. The Oneonta, Alabama, native leads the team in hard hit percentage (49 percent) and has the second highest exit velocity average. Arguably the team's best utility player, Moore was the first infielder taken in this week's Fall World Series Draft.

"I don't know that I've been more impressed with anybody in the fall than I have in Brody Moore," assistant coach Gabe Gross said. "Brody exudes confidence in everything that he does. I think he's taken a step forward in a leadership role because of that confidence. Brody knows that he knows what he's doing. He takes charge of the infield. He thinks the game. His dad played and coached for so long that he understands the game offensively and defensively."
