AUBURN, Ala. – Former Auburn gymnast Brittany Webster has joined the Auburn gymnastics team as a volunteer coach, Jeff Graba announced.
"It is very exciting to have Brittany join our program again," Graba said. "She was such a positive influence, with her determination and tremendous work ethic, during her time here as a student-athlete. In addition, Brittany is a great fit for our program since she already knows our system and will be able to jump right in and start coaching immediately. We are very lucky to have her."
Webster will have a wealth of responsibilities for the Tigers. She will assist on every event this season, providing depth on the coaching roster during this COVID-19 season. In addition, Webster will provide assistance in floor choreography, practice and event management planning, conditioning workouts and with travel.
"I'm ecstatic to be back on the Plains," Webster said. "Ever since I stepped foot on campus in 2011, I knew Auburn would play a big role in my life. I'm looking forward to helping the team reach its postseason goals and seeing them compete again. There have been a lot of challenges and obstacles because of COVID, but the team is eager to show off their hard work and I can't wait to help them do just that."
Webster returns to the Plains after spending the last season as volunteer coach for Michigan State. There, she helped coach two Spartans to All-Big Ten recognition and was instrumental in coaching the squad to a No. 32 national ranking at the end of the season.
Webster assisted with the development and organization of practice and conditioning plans. She also worked closely with beam and floor choreography and aided in the recruitment of prospective student-athletes.
In addition, Webster assisted in the marketing and promotion of the program through social media and was instrumental in the creation of the MSU student section – the Spartan Vault.
Prior to Michigan State, Webster was the head coach and program director at Cypress Pointe Gym in Louisiana. There, she developed, implemented, and modified training and strength programs for Pre-Team, Xcel and JO Levels 1-10. She coached multiple Top 10 finishers at regional competitions as well as multiple Top 25 finishers at JO Nationals.
Webster is a 2015 Auburn graduate, earning her degree in public relations. She was a four-year member of the Auburn gymnastics team and played a role in Auburn's run to the 2015 Super Six.
While on the Plains as a student-athlete, Webster helped the 2015 Tigers set a program record in overall score (197.750) and defeat seven Top 10 teams throughout the season.
Webster was a member of the 2014 All-SEC team (floor) and was a two-time NACGC/W All-Scholastic honoree.
