AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn baseball's Rankin Woley has been named a recipient of the 1A Faculty Athletics Representatives (FAR) Academic Excellence Award.

The 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award is awarded to student-athletes who graduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or higher and have participated in at least two years of NCAA intercollegiate athletics at a Football Bowl Subdivision institution.

Woley, who became Auburn baseball's 12th Academic All-American and was named the Southeastern Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year last spring, graduated summa cum laude from the Harbert College of Business with a bachelor's degree in business administration this summer.

The Atlanta native turned in a 3.92 cumulative GPA during undergrad, including a 4.0 for the 2019-20 academic year. He is a two-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll, a recipient of the 2019 NCAA Elite 90 Award and is currently taking classes to prepare for medical school.

Along with excelling in the classroom, Woley has been a key cog in Auburn's lineup since arriving prior to the 2019 season. He was tabbed Third Team All-America by Collegiate Baseball after finishing the 2020 season as the lone player in Division I to rank in the top 20 in hits (28), doubles (eight) and RBI (22). Woley became the second Auburn player to be named All-America and Academic All-America in the same season (Casey Dunn, 1999).
