AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn baseball continues to announce its 2021 signing class with the addition of infielder Wesley Helms.
Helms, who is the son of 13-year MLB veteran Wes Helms, is a native of Birmingham, Alabama and a product of Briarwood Christian. He is rated by Prep Baseball Report as the No. 8 player and No. 2 infielder in Alabama. Perfect Game also tabbed Helms as a top-30 player in the state, including the No. 4 shortstop.
"I decided to join the Auburn program because I love the coaching staff and what they represent," Helms said. "My mom went to Auburn, and I have grown up being an Auburn fan and wanting to be a part of the Auburn family."

Helms was named a 2019 Perfect Game High Honorable Mention Preseason All-American and has been named to six all-tournament teams while competing for the Birmingham Believers, East Cobb Astros, East Coast Sox and Excel Baseball in the last four seasons.
Also a standout at Briarwood Christian, Helms earned 2020 AL.com Class 5A All-State Baseball Terrific 20 honors and was named to the 2020 North-South All-Star Team following the shortened season. He hit .415 as a freshman and .476 as a sophomore en route to being named 2019 ASWA First Team All-State.
