It's time to meet the Auburn gymnastics freshman class as we bring you Q&As with the newcomers. Up first is Brooke Butler!
 
Hometown: Coral Springs, Fla.
Club: American Twisters
Prior to Auburn: 2019 J.O. National Champion on bars … Scored a 9.95 to win the 2019 Florida State Championship … Two-time Hopes Elite qualifier … Junior Elite qualifier … Two-time Level 10 national qualifier … 2016 J.O. National Team Member.
 
Q: What is your favorite Auburn tradition?
A: Rolling Toomer's Corner.
 
Q: What is your pre-meet ritual?
A: I listen to music that hypes me up.
 
Q: What made you choose Auburn to continue your career in gymnastics?
A: The coaches, facilities, academics, and family atmosphere.
 
Q: Where was your favorite place to compete growing up?
A: I really enjoying competing in Texas at the 2016 national meet.
 
Q: If you were stranded on an island, which three teammates would you choose to be with and why?
A: Payton Smith - because she makes laugh 24/7 and would keep me sane.
Aria Brusch – because we have so many inside jokes and can always have a good time no matter what.
Jada Glenn – because we always have the most fun together.

Q: Where is your favorite vacation spot?
A: Park City, Utah
 
Q: What are your individual goals going into this season?
A: To be able to contribute to the team in some way and make lineups.
 
Q: How has preparing for meets been different during COVID-19?
A: It has been different because we haven't been able to train as a team because we are all in specific pods. Because of that, there is specific equipment we can't use as well.
 
Q: What is the hardest event during a meet?
A: I would say bars because having to grip up each time is time consuming and stressful.
 
Q: What was the feeling after you scored a 9.95 to win the 2019 Florida State Championship?
A: I was overwhelmed with excitement especially with all my teammates and coaches cheering and screaming for me.
 
Q: What are you watching on Netflix right now?
A: New Girl
 
Q: What meet are you most excited for this season?
A: The Florida meet that is in Gainesville because all my friends and family will hopefully be able to come and watch.
 
Q: What is your favorite event to compete in during a meet?
A: I would say floor because I love to dance.
 
Q: If you could be the star of any movie, who would you be and in what movie?
A: I would want to be Hannah Montana from Hannah Montana the Movie.
 
Q: If you could give a message to the Auburn family, what would you say?
A. I'm so excited to represent this amazing school! Thank you for all the love and support!
