AUBURN, Ala. – Three members of the No. 1 Auburn equestrian team were named SEC Riders of the Fall, the Southeastern Conference announced Wednesday.
Senior Taylor St. Jacques was awarded Flat Rider of the Month, while junior McKayla Langmeier earned the honor in Fences. Sophomores Olivia Tordoff was honored in Horsemanship. The trio were also named NCEA October Riders of the Month earlier this season.
St. Jacques put together a 3-0-0 mark in Flat for the Tigers over the squad's three meets in October, picking up big wins vs. conference opponents. She averaged an 87.3 over three meets with a 12-point margin of victory and helped the Flat squad win the event each time.
The Glen Allen, Va., product kicked off the season with a 16-point win at No. 3 South Carolina (Oct. 16), topping her opponent, 84-68. She followed with an 11-point win at No. 4 Georgia (Oct. 23) with another 84-point showing and she capped October with a 94-85 win vs. No. 7 Texas A&M (Oct. 30). Her 94 points tied a career high in the event.
Langmeier went 3-0-0 in Fences, averaging an 86.7 over three meets. Highlighting her performances was the 87-72 win vs. the Aggies to close out October. The 15-point win helped the Tigers sweep TAMU in the event.
The junior from East Granby, Conn., started off the season with an 86-84 edge at South Carolina. She set a season best at Georgia the following week with an 87-79 victory vs. the Bulldogs.
Tordoff, of Powell, Ohio, had an outstanding October in Horsemanship as she averaged a 78.2 and finished 3-0-0. She helped the Tigers go 10-4-1 overall in the event vs. the SEC opponent.
Tordoff kicked off the month with a career-high 80 at South Carolina, besting her opponent by a point in the win. She followed with a 78.5 for MOP honors at Georgia with a three-point margin of victory over her Bulldog opponent. Tordoff closed out October with a 76-74.5 win vs. the Aggies.
