AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn kicker Anders Carlson was named to the 2019 AFCA FBS Coaches' All-America Team, the American Football Coaches Association announced Thursday.

Carlson, a Second Team selection, converted 18 of 20 field goal attempts on the season and was 23 of 24 on PATs. The junior made all five of his field goals between 40-49 yards and also connected from 50 yards out, a season long, against Tennessee. His 39-yard field goal in the closing seconds against Arkansas was the game-winner and helped the Tigers seal a 30-28 victory at home.

Carlson was one of 20 kickers chosen as a semifinalist for this year's Lou Groza Award. He was also named First Team All-SEC by the Associated Press and was voted a Second Team All-SEC selection by the league's coaches.

With three made field goals and a PAT in his last game, Carlson moved up to sixth in career scoring at Auburn with 268 points. He also climbed to fourth in career field goals made with 51. His older brother Daniel is the school's all-time leader in both categories with 480 career points and 92 career field goals made.

Anders Carlson will look to add to his total Friday when Auburn takes on Northwestern in the VRBO Citrus Bowl. The game is slated to kick off at noon CT and will be televised on ABC.
