A new crop of Tigers is on The Plains and ready to get to work. Follow along over the next few weeks as we re-introduce our 2020 class through a question and answer segment with each player.

We continue this week with three more newcomers, finishing up with freshman Maddie Prohaska. Prohaska makes her way to The Plains from West Chester, Ohio, and is a product of Lakota West High School and Cincinnati DA.

Q: Who or what inspired you to play soccer?
A: My sister inspired me to play soccer. When I was younger. All I wanted was to be just like her. Then, growing up, we got to challenge each other on the soccer field. Even though today she only plays basketball, she is still my biggest inspiration.

Q: What is your favorite soccer memory growing up?
A: My favorite soccer memory growing up was the long tournament weekends. When I was really young, the team would sit under trees between the three games we had that day. Eventually, it turned into one game a day, and we spent hours in hotel lobbies playing cards and hanging out.

Q: What is your biggest accomplishment on or off the field?
A: My best accomplishment is going to national camp. Also, I am very proud of winning a state championship with my high school soccer team.

Q: Do you have any pre-match superstitions?
A: I used to have many pre-match superstitions like not washing any part of my uniform on tournament weeks, or for three-plus seasons I wore the same headband without ever washing it. Now, if I play well in a certain uniform or compression shorts, I like to wear those every time for the remainder of the season.

Q: What made you choose Auburn?
A: I chose Auburn because of the people, campus and soccer. When I stepped on campus for the first time, it felt like home to me, and I just fell in love with it. Then getting to know all the girls made it an even more perfect fit. The soccer program and Coach Hoppa are extremely respected, so getting to wear the Auburn jersey is such an honor.

Q: What is your favorite Auburn tradition?
A: My favorite Auburn tradition is the Tiger Walk. It is awesome to be up close to the football team and now getting to be friends with some of them, it will be cool to see them pre-game.

Q: What are you most excited about for the upcoming season?
A: I am most excited about getting to spend every day with the team. As a freshman class, we are super close, so every day will come with new, fun adventures that I can't wait for.

Q: If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?
A: I would eat medium steak and my grandma's homemade brown rice as my one meal for the rest of my life.

Q: If you could have any superpower what would it be and why?
A: If I could have any superpower, I would want to talk to animals. I have always wondered what they are thinking or if they are talking to each other. They have their own language, and it amazes me.

Q: What is your favorite movie or TV show?
A: My favorite TV shows are Friends and Grey's Anatomy. I could binge those two shows for hours. My mom and I watched a whole season of Grey's Anatomy in two days.

Q: What major do you plan to pursue and what do you want to do with it?
A: I am a double major in the business school in marketing and management. I want to work with sports after college, so I am keeping the door open with a business major.

Q: What are your goals during your time at Auburn?
A: My goal for my time at Auburn is to prepare myself for the real world. You learn a lot about yourself in college, and I can't wait to see how Auburn and the people here impact my life. Also, I hold myself to a high academic standard, so excelling in school will be a goal of mine.

Q: What do you hope to do when your playing days are over?
A: I hope that my playing days won't be over until after I take on the professional realm. After those days, I would love to be a coach at some level, but I know that I never want to give up the game of soccer.
