AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn softball mourns the heartbreaking loss of former Tiger student-athlete Alyssia Palomino, who passed away on Aug. 4 in Birmingham, Ala.
Palomino, 28, represented Auburn in the fall of 2010 and competed with the program through 2012. She made her collegiate debut during the 2011 season with four appearances as a relief pitcher. In her first career appearance, Palomino helped the Tigers to a win over Georgia Southern after not allowing a base runner over an inning of relief.
Former teammates described Palomino as a "friend to all." The Rialto, Calif., native was known for her "infectious laugh" and "contagious personality".
Palomino served as a special education paraprofessional in the Birmingham school system. Service information will be available at a later time.
